We celebrated the first graduating class from Jalpan Institute for Educational Excellence (Mexico).

The last 3rd July, the sixth-grade class from Institute for Educational Excellence in Sierra Gorda de Querétaro (Mexico) was graduated. It all began as a dream of its founder, Abel Montero, who was able to fulfill his dream by means of the strong economic support from and Infantia foundations. Thanks to the support of these foundations, the institute now offers excellent education for children −boys and girls from the region− with outstanding skills for learning, and who have limited economic resources.

This event is of great importance for since the Institute for Educational Excellence was one of beneficiaries for Ab·soo Program: “Sharing in Education”. Thanks to e-learning methods, and in close collaboration with the Campus for Peace at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), a long distance learning program was carried out in order to train teachers at this school.

Nowadays, at Jalpan Institute for Educational Excellence in Sierra Gorda (Querétaro State) the following classes are imparted on a daily basis: English language, Music, Computing, Dancing and PE (Physical Education); and Math, Spanish language and Social and Natural Sciences classes are imparted by highly qualified teachers. Next to their desks, each student has a personal computer connected to the Internet, and what is more, students are given lunch every day. Moreover, children of limited economic resources are provided with books, uniforms and school supplies free of charge.
