The main European artistic event for the youth in Girona and Vilanova is getting close

This summer, around 120 young Europeans from 15 different countries will participate in Creativity.cat, Act for Interculturality, which is the main artistic meeting for the youth at a continental level. Neagènia Intercultural, partner of iwith.org, is going to coordinate this meeting, which gathers participants aged from 18 to 30 years, with the aim of encouraging creativity, interculturality and public-spirited participation.

Last September Iwith.org welcomed one of our beneficiaries, Movimiento Idún, and the mayor of the Orellana region of the Ecuadorian Amazon, Anita Rivas. We showed support for their campaign to keep oil underground in Yasuní, which will protect the biodiversity of one of the richest regions on earth. Today the Ecuadorian press reported good news for the campaign: President Rafael Correa has accepted the proposal.

La gran fita d'Internet ha estat la democratització de la informació, tant pel que fa a l'accés com a la publicació. Per això és el blanc dels governs que lluiten per impedir aquesta llibertat. L'ONG Reporters sense Fronteres han publicat justament un informe per denunciar públicament aquests enemics d'Internet, que volen controlar-la. Han demanat, juntament amb Aministia Internacional, l'aixecament de la censura a Internet i han escrit l'informe "Enemics d'Internet", on l'entitat fa un balanç de la censura a vint-i-dos països.

The II International Encounter of the TIC for Development Cooperation, Cooperation 2.0, ended this afternoon in Gijon with the shared challenge of pushing a "Development 2.0" where all of the agents (Administration, business and third sector) will actively participate in a coordinated manner, starting with the people destined for help. This was one of the main conclusions that ended the event organized by the CTIC Foundation which united more than a hundred technology agents as well as ones from the Cooperation in Asturias during a span of three days.
