It is a gathering place for international leaders of the new Web, who gather to discuss and debate the most important issues, strategies, and disruptions driving the Internet economy.
Why does Iwith.org work with new technologies (ICT)? or How can technologies be a tool for development and progress? we were interviewed in VITA Europe, and there we tried to explain those questions. Also, at the end of this article we give you a video example, not an iwith.org's one, but a testimony that could perfectly fit on our objectives!.
The idea emerged as a result of the recent assessment of development assistance undertaken by the United Nations in Spain, ANUE. The course is oriented around case examples from Africa and includes some practical workshops to facilitate its understanding. ANUE is one of our organization beneficiaries and Ramon Bartemeus, Resource manager of Iwith.org will be facilitating one of the course workshops.
Our NGO has been invited by the Global Alliance for the Information and Communication Technologies and Development (GAID), an initiative approved by the General Secretary of the UN in 2006. The alliance responds to the need and demand created by different actors of an inclusive global forum and a platform for the dialogue on the use of the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). Through this dialogue it is expected to meet the internationally agreed objectives for development and its subsequent reduction in poverty.

From the 30th to the 31st of January 2008, the Palacio de Congresos in Gijón, Asturias (Spain), will host “Cooperation towards Development 2.0: The First International Communication and Information Technology Conference for Cooperation towards Development”. An event uniting government, social and business sectors seeking to exchange knowledge and experiences with the aim of spanning digital gaps and promoting the use of ICTs in order to improve the methods and practices of cooperation towards development.
