Doing Good and Doing Well: at IESE

Last Friday attended the Doing Good and Doing Well event at the IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain.  The event, run jointly with Net Impact, is the leading student run event on Responsible Business, Development and Sustainability in Europe. We had the pleasure of meeting many new interesting people and students interested in activism and sustainable development.

The event was a great success for participated in the career fair, where we had our own station where we were able to network and meet many new and interesting people that approached our table. For many students, was an exciting new discovery. I was able to share with them our mission, our work with NGOs, and why we love doing what we do best. The business students were bright and genuinely interested in getting involved with improving the world through technology.
The conference seeks to expand awareness about the potential for business approaches in the area of sustainable development and also assist in understanding the most up to date advancements and arguments in Healthcare, Energy, the Environment, Responsible Finance and Social and Economic Development. It attracts professionals and students from the leading business schools around the globe. This year, it was sold out with over 650 participants and more than 80 speakers for both panels and keynote sessions. It opens up multiple career and general networking opportunities for the students so that they have the chance to consider careers in Responsible Business, Sustainability and Development areas.

During the event we got to meet one of our partners from Valencia, Carlos de la Varga from Field Interworld. We also ran into another partner all the way from Ecuador, Javier Ayala, whom we work with together on a project sponsored by the Dutch organization SNV World. Additionally, we had the pleasure of getting to meet a promising young candidate interested in the position of Partnership Manager in our Geneva branch. Lastly, we networked with a few organizations that share our same mission and objectives. We hope to get the chance to collaborate with them and start a project in the future.
Last but not least, Marta Manné from Fundación Prasad was kind enough to let us interview her and share her organization’s story. Watch the brief interview below!
