We explain it in detail:
Where we come from?
The iWith.org Foundation was born almost 20 years ago to help organizations use the Internet. At that time Google was little known and with us were born projects with a new social character such as Hazloposible, Idealist and Wikipedia.
In this environment we did an indispensable job transmitting knowledge, providing training and developing the Abcore integrated services platform with which many projects started on the Internet.
Over the years, the situation is very different, knowledge is in the network, there is a sufficient training offer, there are many companies, organizations and consultancies willing to accompany NGOs on their way through the Internet,
and many programs have been developed with those who make websites, blogs, campuses, stores and all kinds of tools to establish communication in the networks. We have seen Facebook, Twitter and Skype born, and we have seen Fotolog,
Tuenti and Google Wave disappear.
In this environment many things change, and we also have a good proposal.
We are proud to have been among the pioneers, to have participated in hundreds of non-profit projects, to have managed important private and public resources, and in summary to have worked with so many good people in the
digitalization of the non-profit sector.
What do we change?
We give way to
Help-On, a new non-profit association that concentrates all the experience and values of iWith.org, and maintains the same services with a more agile structure.
How have we prepared the short term?
Our plan includes absolute respect for all stakeholders, volunteers, collaborators, partners, donors, users, suppliers and all who have accompanied us in these two decades.
Together we have developed the Integrated Internet Services Platform
Abcore Cadí, and now
we return it to society in the form of open source free software
Many of us who have made iWith.org grow are helping Help-On be born and will continue to support it. Help-On is led by David Soto that you probably already know.
You don't have to worry about anything, same service, same conditions, same machines, same technical team and a new opportunity to move forward.
How do we see the future?
Undoubtedly, the world will continue to evolve and bring surprises, and everything indicates that the Internet together with civil society and non-profit projects will play an important role in the development of society.
We are sure that the new more flexible and dynamic structure will continue to respond to the new challenges that you pose from organizations.
Although the support service@iwith.org is still operational, you can go to support@help-on.org for any need.
